The Water
Bearer
Available£1,650
100 × 100 cm · Framed · Original
Created after returning from Australia, The Water Bearer feels deeply personal — a large-scale shell assemblage shaped by home, memory, ocean and spirit.
At its heart is the image of a woman pouring water, echoing Aquarius and themes of intuition, flow and becoming. Byron Bay colour, symbolism and soft pink fragments brought back from Spell weave through the composition shell by shell.

The story
A map of home,
memory & spirit.
The Water Bearer was created after Victoria returned from Australia, and carries the feeling of that journey within it. It holds the colours, textures and symbols of home — the sea, the heat, the softness of pink dusk, and the instinctive pull of the coast.
Some of the pink imagery came from tissue paper brought home from Spell, one of Victoria's favourite Byron Bay shops, while the dots, markings and visual motifs were inspired by artwork encountered in and around Byron's galleries.
What emerged is both playful and devotional: a layered composition that feels like a personal talisman, reminding us to keep flowing toward what feels true.

Aquarius,
intuition & flow.
The central water-bearing figure gives the piece its title and symbolic core. Around her, shells painted with waves, spirals, butterflies, coral branches and suns create a language of movement and renewal.
Pink, violet, turquoise and ocean blue sit against the natural shell surface with hand-painted gold edges, balancing softness with brightness and allowing each element to feel precious in its own right.
Colour & symbolism
Byron Bay energy,
held in shell form.
There is a beautiful sense of travel and remembrance in this work. Organic patterns and earthy symbols sit beside marine imagery, while butterflies and shifting horizons suggest transformation, expansion and trust.
At 100 × 100 cm, the piece has a generous presence and reads almost like a painted wall of memories — one that brings light, movement and a deeply personal energy into a room.
